56//365 : cookies So if you've been paying any attention even the slightest (ok, that's asking a lot, I realize) the past week or so, you're well aware that I'm going on a road trip. It's true! I am! And I'm very excited, because who doesn't love a good road trip? And if you know me at all, you know I have a habit of spoiling people and going a little overboard. So here it is, the evening before the trip, and I'm not totally packed, but what am I doing? Baking cookies. And not just one kind either: no, I had to make two totally different kinds. Meyer lemon sables and (of course) my coffee crunch bars* (fyi, Molly? the best they've been since the amazing batch that weekend in Seattle. A good omen, no?). Hey, what can I say. Someone flies all the way from the east coast to go on a crazy winter road trip up the California coast with me, I figure the least I can do is make some cookies, right? I just opened the door for a whole host of jokes about my cookies, didn't I. Anyway, here I am laughing at myself for baking instead of packing. It's so very Leah. So point is - this will be the last 365 I'll be posting until I get back. Don't miss me too much, ok? xo *And yes, if you have the February issue of Bon Appetit, that's me, and those are the coffee crunch bars. That lovely Molly, she knows how to get a secret family recipe out of a girl! 293/365 What should be a part of my every day life... Week 25/52(my kids and me) I am supposed to test my blood every day. I don't. I have thought that T could have diabetes for awhile now. I push the thought to the back of my head as fast as it pops into my brain. Today with my moms support I pulled my gluclose meter out and decided to test him. His readings were high. I am going to do a fasting one tomorrow morning before totally start freaking out and calling the doctor for an appointment. He was a brave little dude, only freaked out once he saw the blood. The pricks didn't phase him.
